Where is a safe place to post poetry and/or stories?

There are no copy-right protected sites per se, but you have a copyright on everything you have written or produced, whether or not you have applied for a formal copyright. It's a tricky question, because there are people who cruise the various sites and pick off good ideas - and you may not even know it's happening.
